POST 712 MONTHLY EVENTS

  Join us on Facebook

Get daily updates and browse through our Facebook photo

albums for friends and family members. Send a friend request to

            Americanlegion Postsevenonetwo

  Bar hours

Noon to midnight, Sunday-Saturday.  ATM and Free WiFI every day.

  Kitchen is Open Again

Our kitchen will be open for bar food appetizers Tue-Sat 4-9 PM.

In addition, we will be offering a different full meal, open to the

public, no smoking, every Friday beginning 10/26.

  Post Volunteers and Fund Raising

Post 712 encourages all Post groups and members to make

donations to the Post so that we can reach a revenue balance

to avoid drawing from our savings to keep the doors open. We

won't be able help anyone if we exhaust our savings and are

forced to shut down. We are not a 501c(3) (Public Charity).  The

        American Legion Post 712 (25-1884268) is a 501c(19) (Veteran

Organization). Our parent organization (American Legion

35-0144250) is listed in IRS Pub 78 (Organizations eligible to

receive tax-deductible charitable contributions) with codes EO

(Other than Public Charity) and GROUP (Central Organization

with group exemption,  whose subordinate units are also eligible

for tax-deductible contributions). We are also PA tax exempt

(75-402-925).  Donors can retrieve the documentation for their

records from the IRS web site 'irs.gov' -> 'Tax Exempt

Organization Search'.  We can stabilize our situation if we have

fund raisers, in addition to requesting or giving donations. We

can also save money by donating time by volunteering for events

and special projects. We all win if we all pitch in.

  Guests

Post 712 encourage guests to come to our Legion with members,

however if guests visit during times when we are not open to

the public, we are required to sign them in as guests and

expect them to join following the third visit.

Pennsylvania Legislation: "V" Designation

on Veterans' Driver License

This is a great law for Pennsylvania veterans who want proof of veteran

status but are not able to obtain a "Veterans ID Card" through the

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

"V" Designation on Driver License (Rep. Jeff Pyle / PRESENT) -

requires that Penn DOT issue a license / ID card with a "V" for

Veteran identifier (at no additional fee) to persons that have served in

the U.S. Armed Forces and were discharged or released under

conditions other than dishonorable. The "V" identifier is

EXTREMELY important to PA Veterans and provides long

overdue recognition for those who may not participate in other

programs or have other military ID, will allow them to qualify for

discounts / other benefits and will be useful in the ID of Veterans in a

variety of circumstances.

Participation is voluntary and will require Veterans to provide documentation (DD Form 214, military ID)
